Learning Dispositions

Ngākuru School Learning Dispositions

Dispositions are our habits of thinking and doing. Curiosity is a disposition - it is not a skill or knowledge but a tendency to respond to an experience in a certain way (Carr, 1997). Dispositions influence later learning, therefore, as teachers, we need to be developing the dispositions to keep on learning. (Carr, 1997).

We have had thorough consultation with our community and students, selected learner dispositions that we think would be useful to work on at our school and within our learning community in order to create a shared language of learning and an Effective Ngākuru School Learner and Profile.
